High Performance Reconfigurable Elliptic Curve Cipher Processor Implementation

Abstract Elliptic Curve Encryption (ECC) has been widely used in the field of digital signatures communication security. ECC standards and diversification application scenarios put forward higher requirements for flexibility processors. Therefore, it is necessary to design a flexible reconfigurable processor adapt changing standards. The cryptographic chip designed this paper supports choice prime binary fields, maximum key length 576 bits, uses microcode programming achieve function, significantly improves dedicated processor. At same time, speed modular multiplication division can be greatly improved under condition keeping low level hardware resources through carefully unit operation. After using FPGA implementation, configured into 256-bit length. highest clock frequency reach 55.7MHz, occupying 12425LUTS. Compared with similar design, performance also improved. MALU module optimization significant advantages computing time consumption.
